Legal protection

Every plan delivery documented. In court if it comes to that.

When a buyer claims you never told them about the spec change, Lotwright shows the court exactly who received the PDF, when, where, and that they acknowledged it.

How it works

Four steps from delivery to sealed audit trail.

Every plan delivery creates a tamper-proof record automatically — no extra steps for you or your buyers.

Upload & seal

Upload the finalized floor plan PDF. Lotwright computes a SHA-256 hash of the document — a digital fingerprint. Any future alteration of the file changes the fingerprint, proving tampering.

Deliver to buyer

The buyer receives a secure link via email. When they open it, Lotwright records the timestamp, IP address, device type, and geographic coordinates of the access event.

Buyer acknowledges

A one-click acknowledgment confirms the buyer received and reviewed the plan. Optional: integrate DocuSign or Adobe Sign for a legally binding e-signature on the plan itself.

Audit trail sealed

Every delivery event is stored permanently in immutable storage — never editable. Export a formatted PDF audit report at any time for mediation, arbitration, or civil court.

Real scenario

The $12,000 dispute that closed in one meeting.

The situation

Six months after close, the buyer's attorney sent a letter claiming Ridgecrest Homes never disclosed the spec change from 9-foot ceilings to 8-foot ceilings in the master bedroom. They sought $12,000 in remediation and threatened to escalate to the state contractor board.

Without documentation, it would have been a "he said / she said" situation in front of a mediator — exactly the kind of dispute that costs builders $3,000–8,000 in legal fees even when they win.

Under the hood

Built to hold up in court.

Not a screenshot. Not an email thread. A tamper-evident chain of custody with cryptographic proof.

🔒

SHA-256 document hashing

Every uploaded PDF gets a cryptographic fingerprint. Present the hash in court — if the file was altered after delivery, the fingerprint won't match. Proof in seconds.

📍

Geo-tagged access events

Every time a buyer opens a plan link, Lotwright logs the timestamp, IP address, and approximate geographic coordinates — without requiring a buyer account.

🗄️

Immutable storage

Delivery records are written once and locked. No Lotwright employee — not even an engineer — can edit or delete a delivery event after it's recorded.

✍️

DocuSign / Adobe Sign

Need a full buyer e-signature on the plan, not just an acknowledgment? Connect your existing DocuSign or Adobe Sign account. The signed document attaches to the audit trail.

📋

Export-ready court report

One click exports a formatted PDF audit report with document fingerprint, delivery timestamps, buyer acknowledgment, and geographic data — formatted for use in mediation or court.

♾️

Permanent retention

Plan delivery records are kept for the life of your Lotwright account — never auto-deleted. Warranty and defect disputes can surface years after close.

Stop settling "he said / she said" disputes.
